Habit – Deciduous tree, 20-35-meter-high, median-sized tree, bark gray, rough; quadrangular stems, densely stellate hairy.

Bark – Gray to gray-brown, rough and scaly, rough texture.

Leaves – Leaves opposite, simple, petiolate, 0.5 cm long, exstipulate, leaf blade ovate, 2.0-11.0 cm long, 1.5-7.5 cm in width, rounded at the base, entire along the margin, acute at the apex, densely stellate hairy, rough texture.

Inflorescence – Leaves opposite, simple, petiolate, 0.5 cm long, exstipulate, leaf blade ovate, 2.0-11.0 cm long, 1.5-7.5 cm in width, rounded at the base, entire along the margin, acute at the apex, densely stellate hairy, rough texture.

Flower – Flowers complete, bisexual, regular, actinomorphic, pentamerous, hypogynous, whitish purple; bracteate; bracteolate; pedicellate, 0.3 cm long. Calyx (5), synsepalous, campanulate, tube sepaloid, hairs present. Corolla (5) lobed, synpetalous, funnel shaped.

Fruit – Fruit drupaceous, dehiscent, oblongoid.

Seed – Seed oblong.

Flowering and Fruiting Time – Flowering time from March to May and fruiting time from May to July.

Usage – Wood is used for buildings, Bridges, boats, make railway sleepers, furniture and firewood.
