အပင်သရုပ် – ကြီးမားသော ချုံပင် သို့မဟုတ် အလတ်စားအပင်မျိုးဖြစ်ပြီး၊ ပုံမှန်အားဖြင့် အမြင့် ၃ မီတာမှ ၁၅ မီတာအထိရှိပြီး အကိုင်းအခက် နည်းပါးသော သဘောထားမျိုးရှိသည်။
အခေါက် – အခေါက်သည် ချောမွေ့ပြီးအဖြူရောင်ရှိသည်။
အရွက် – အရွက်များသည် ရွက်ထီးဖြစ်ပြီး၊ မျက်နှာချင်းဆိုင်ထွက်သည်။ အရွက်သည် ဗျက် 5-12 စင်တီမီတာနှင့် အရှည် 10-25 စင်တီမီတာ ရှိသည်။ ရှည်သွယ်သော အီလစ်ပုံရှိကာ၊ အရောင်အားဖြင့် နက်မှောင် သော အစိမ်းရောင်တောက်ပြောင်သော အသွင်အပြင်ရှိသည်။
ပန်းခိုင် – ပန်းခိုသ်များသည် များသောအားဖြင့် အပွင့်များစွာပါသော ထိပ်ထွက် terminal cymes ပန်းခိုင်အမျိုးအစားဖြစ်သည်။
ပန်းပွင့် – အပွင့်များသည် အဖြူ သို့မဟုတ် ပန်းရောင်ရှိကာ အနံ ၃-၄ စင်တီမီတာရှိသည်။ ပွင့်ခံအုံသည် ၀.၈-၁.၅ စင်တီမီတာရှိသည်။ ပွင့်ဖတ်အုံတွင် ပွင့်ဖတ် ၄ ခုပါရှိပြီး၊ ပုံသဏ္ဍာန်အားဖြင့် ဘဲဥပုံ သို့မဟုတ် သုံးမြှောင့်သဏ္ဍာန်ရှိဘဲဥပုံနှင့်တူသည်။
အသီး – အဝိုင်းပုံမှ ဘဲဥပုံသဏ္ဍာန်ရှိပြီး နှင်းဆီ၏ရနံ့ရှိသည်။
ပွင့်သီးချိန် – ဖေဖော်ဝါရီ၊ မတ်လနှင့် ဧပြီလတို့တွင် ပန်းပွင့်လေ့ရှိပြီး ဇွန်လမှ ဇူလိုင်လအထိ အသီးသီးလေ့ရှိသည်။
အသုံးဝင်မှု – အရွက်ကို မျက်စိနာများအတွက် ဆီးဆေးနှင့် ဆီးချဆေးနှင့် ဒူလာ ရောဂါ ကုသရာတွင် အသုံးပြုသည်။ အရွက်၏အရည်ကို febrifuge အဖြစ်ယူသည်။ အရွက်မှုန့်ကို အအေးခံခြင်းအတွက် ကျောက်ရောဂါ ဝေဒနာရှင်များ၏ ခန္ဓာကိုယ်ပေါ်တွင် ပွတ်တိုက်ပေး၍ ကုသနိုင် သည်။

Habitat – Originating in Southeast Asia and occurring widely elsewhere, having been introduced as an ornamental and fruit tree.
Habit – A large shrub or small-to-medium-sized tree, typically 3 to 15 m high, with a tendency to low branching.
Bark – Bark is smooth and white.
Leaves – Leaves are simple and opposite, 5-12 cm broad and 10-25 cm long tapering leaves that are positioned. The elliptic-oblong leaves have a dark green glossy appearance.
Inflorescence – Inflorescences usually terminal cymes with several flowers, sometimes axillary and solitary.
Flower – Flowers white or pink, 3-4 cm in diam. Hypanthium obconic, 0.8-1.5 cm. Calyx lobes 4, semiorbicular or triangular-ovate, 5-8 × 6-9 mm.

Usage – The leaf decoction is applied to sore eyes, also serves as a diuretic and expectorant and treatment for rheumatism. The juice of macerated leaves is taken as a febrifuge. Powdered leaves have been rubbed on the bodies of smallpox patients for the cooling effect.
