Habitat – Native to Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar and Bangladesh.

Habit – A medium to large deciduous tree that can grow up to 30 meters tall. It typically has a straight trunk and a broad, spreading crown.

Bark – Rough and fissured, with a gray to brown coloration. It can peel off in irregular strips, revealing a reddish-brown inner layer.

Leaves – Pinnate, leaf typically has 4-8 pairs of leaflets, which are elliptical to oblong in shape and measure about 5-12 cm long and 2-5 cm wide.

Inflorescence – Raceme, which is a simple or branched cluster of flowers that grow along a central stem. These racemes can be quite long, sometimes reaching up to 30 cm in length.

Flower – Small and typically yellow to yellowish-green. Each flower has five petals and numerous stamens that extend beyond the petals.

Fruit and Seed – A woody, flattened pod that is oblong in shape and can be up to 10-15 cm long. The pod is hard and usually brown or dark brown when mature. It contains several seeds.

Flowering and Fruiting Time – Flowering time from February to April and fruiting time from September to November.
