Habitat – Native to tropical regions of the Americas, including parts of South America and the Caribbean. It typically grows in lowland tropical rainforests, often along riverbanks or in wet, swampy areas.

Habit – It can be as high as 45 – 60 meters high, because there are many thorns on the trunk, it was named as Monkey Can’t Climb.

Bark – Smooth in youth, It is gray and brown in color. As he grew older, Small spines formed and gray in color.

Leaves – Alternate and palmately compound. The leaves are typically dark green in color and can grow up to 30 centimeters (12 inches) in length.

Inflorescence – small, greenish-white flowers that are borne in clusters at the ends of branches. The flowers are unisexual.

Flower – It is a type of long, drooping flower with a red top,small and inconspicuous, with no petals. They have a unique structure typical of the Euphorbiaceae family, with male flowers consisting of several stamens and female flowers consisting of a single pistil.

Fruit – Spiky capsule that resembles a small pumpkin.

Seed – Several seeds, which are small and brown in color.

Flowering and Fruiting Time – Flowering from May to August and fruiting from February to May .

Usage – Wood is used as furniture.
